FIFA 21 publishes the news and improvements that Ultimate Team will incorporate this season, in addition to the new players chosen for the Icon back.
FIFA 21 continues to reel off little by little what is to come next October 9. This time we focus on its star mode, Ultimate Team, which is marked by additions in the offer of game modes and the extension of possibilities in terms of customization. On the other hand, the list of FUT icons is fattened with new faces.
And is that FIFA 21 is something more than the annual edition of the king of interactive football. This year coincides with the launch of PS5 and Xbox Series X, a generation that will take those users who want to make the leap by the hand. Nobody is left behind.
FUT Coop and Events
Ultimate Team will allow you to join a friend to play cooperative matches. You can play Divisions Rivals and Squad Battles with the cards of both players; you will access the social functions without having to leave your favorite mode. In the case of playing in the first, the highest division in which one of the participants is found will be taken.
Participating in them will enable special challenges with rewards that you can keep in your profile. It doesn’t matter if you are invited: your progress stays with you when you decide to play alone. You can deactivate the cooperative mode to continue enjoying the same Divisions Rivals as always.
These possibilities will give more meaning to another of the revealed functions: FUT Events. As the name suggests, these challenges integrate the work of the community as a group. They give as an example the possibility of supporting a Premier League team of five. If your choice wins, you will get rewards according to the requirements.
When it comes to multiplayer, we are promised a significant skill placement upgrade. The exact skill score you received will now be displayed based on the result. If instead you prefer a friendly experience, FUT Friendlies increases its portfolio of possibilities allowing challenges with specific objectives, such as playing a match with silver teams. Your assessment will not change.
Tame the old glories
If FUT is characterized by something, it is by allowing the mixing of football legends with the players who are still active. Every year the grid of this sort of hall of fame is updated with new names and versions of the already known ones.
The icons added in FIFA 21 have a Spanish flavor. Xavi Hernández, Fernando Torres and David Villa will have the luxury of having their own special back, a true nod to the Spanish team that conquered the World Cup in South Africa in 2010. The goal this year is to have 100 icons in the game.

On the card side, the way special moment backs improve over their base rating has been improved. So far they were limited to the six outstanding attributes. FIFA 21 will allow players deserving of an improved card to do so based on the feat they have performed. If Sergio Ramos has stood out for having scored with a header at the key moment, his letter will mainly improve that attribute.
Personalization and experience enhancements
Creating an identity around your club will be easier with the introduction of FUT Stadium. You can have your own stadium that will improve as the team does. You will have the opportunity to customize a multitude of aspects, such as the structure, the types, what the match day looks like … You can expect all kinds of new cosmetic items. As you complete objectives you can make it grow to increase its capacity more and more. And if you don’t want to play in it, you will still be able to choose a licensed stadium.
These aesthetic additions are accompanied by the effort of EA Sports to renew the entire user experience. The interface and menus have been redesigned to facilitate navigation. Greater clarity, more speed and less waiting times. Changes in club items are not trivial. Now all players will start the matches at maximum physical, that is, it will no longer be a value to manage in menus. Training, Physical, and Healing Staff cards are removed. To reduce the injury time there will be only two cards, depending on their rarity, the time in which the player will remain out of the call will vary. In what position are the envelopes in this sense? It will be more common to find chemistry style and a multitude of cosmetic objects for the club.
A FUT club
FIFA 21 will offer flexibility to players who want to make the move to the next generation of consoles. The Double Version program goes beyond receiving a copy of PS5 or Xbox Series X when purchasing one of the current consoles, but allows you to transfer all your Ultimate Team progress between them.
