While the majority is still looking forward to the launch of the 'Final Fantasy 7 Remake' next year, the development of the second part has started as well. So you stick to the episodic format to publish the remake as soon as possible.
In an update to the official website, Square Enix writes:
"We've already started working on the next [chapter], but I'm confident that playing this title will exceed your expectations, as will the world beyond Midgar."
At the same time, they gave an overview of the developer team involved in the remake, including long-time Final Fantasy developers, as well as some who joined the team.
These include Tetsuya Nomura as director, Motomu Toriyama as co-director, and Kazushige Nojima for the story and scenarios. Co-Director Naoki Hamaguchi, who is now part of the core development team, will also be there. In addition, we are particularly pleased with some creators of the younger generations, who ensure that the spirit of the original game is preserved, while at the same time giving it the power of a new generation.
Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released in March 2020.
