Although a priori Season 2 of the Battle Pass of Fortnite Chapter 2 was to have started on February 6 (as several dataminers such as the popular lucas7yoshi could see), in the end its start was postponed until the 20th of the same month. Therefore, Season 1 of the Fortnite Battle Pass Chapter 2 will end on Wednesday, February 19.

What has been the story of Season 1 of Fortnite Chapter 2?
A new world appeared before Fortnite players
After the spectacular event The End of Season X of Fortnite Battle Royale, the previous island was engulfed by a black hole, and the game was inactive for a few days. After this, Fortnite was relaunched as Fortnite Chapter 2, and the new Season 1 began.
Along what we have seen on the loading screens of the different weekly challenges, on the new island there are two opposing factions: ALTER and E.G.O .. Both sides are military organizations; as far as we can deduce, E.G.O. they are the "good," and ALTER, the "bad."

In addition, the name of both is not accidental; an "alter ego" (literally "the other me" in Latin) in fiction is often used as a different or evil version of a base character. In other words: ALTER is made up of evil versions of E.G.O. members, and they appear to be led by Agent Chaos.

We don't know for sure if there will be an event at the end of Season 1 of Fortnite Chapter 2, although the precedents tell us that we should expect one. It is more than a tradition; One of the unwritten rules of Fortnite Battle Royale is that at the end of each season there must be an event in which players can live live the changes that are coming.

Data miner lucas7yoshi found several interesting objects in Fortnite Battle Royale that were included through patch 11.50, which was applied to the game on February 5.
These objects are bathed in gold, and, in addition, in the files of the game they belong to a folder called «Gold» in which there are other elements. This makes us think that the code name of the event is precisely «Gold».

The iFireMonkey dataminer found among the files of the same patch an audio called "Agent Meowsicles", consisting of several cat meows with background ambient sound.

It turns out that by passing this audio track through a spectrograph, images of cats and fish are obtained. Or, in English, "cat" and "fish."
