Tim Sweeney, president of Epic Games anticipates on Twitter that throughout this year 2020 that begins in a few days there may be big plans.
Fortnite is one of the great phenomena of the last decade in the world of video games, along with other great titles that have been played and that have transcended our industry, but by 2020, the battle royale of Epic Games could go one step further. According to Tim Sweeney, president of the company, we should wait 12 months to know if Fortnite is merely a video game or something else.
It has been on Twitter where Sweeney has responded in this way to a follower. He has asked if he sees Fortnite as a video game or as a platform, to which the CEO of Epic Games has replied that "it is a game, but please ask again in twelve months."
From there everything is speculation, but the agreement between Disney and Epic Games can give us a clue as to where Sweeney goes. This agreement may well remain in mere crossover as seen with the premiere of Avengers: Endgame or currently with the Star Wars Episode IX: The Ascent of Skywalker, but we could also see in the future an animated series based on the success of Epic .
