These non‑tradable items occupy the pickaxe slot the moment you drop from the Battle Bus and are designed to streamline sprite extraction. Three variants are listed by Epic: the Portable Extractor, which summons a one‑time extraction site; the Lucky Locator, which reveals a hidden chest containing a missing sprite; and the Extraction Site Booster, which drops a crate that hyper‑levels any sprite extracted within its radius. Only the Portable Extractor is currently obtainable; the other two will roll out later in the season.
Deploying the Portable Extractor
First, locate a sprite in any chest, floor loot, or dedicated sprite chest. After equipping the sprite, activate the gizmo from the pickaxe slot—hold Y/Triangle on console or press L on PC. A five‑second countdown begins, during which the chosen sprite is extracted. The process leaves the user vulnerable, so clearing nearby threats beforehand is advisable.
How to stock up on gizmos
Because gizmos do not spawn in random loot, the primary supply chain is the Sprite Mastery track. Extract a sprite at max level 5, climb the mastery curve, and earn additional Portable Extractors as rewards. A secondary source is the Sprite Dust Services located at any extraction site; surplus dust from successful extractions can be exchanged for more gizmos.
Inventory for these items carries over between matches throughout the season, but they cannot be dropped, traded, or lost upon elimination.
As Epic expands the gizmo roster, players can expect new tactical options beyond the Portable Extractor, reshaping how sprite extraction fits into the evolving Chapter 7 meta.
