On December 29, 2019, the barefoot skin came to Fortnite's turkey shop. It is, in broad strokes, a police girl who goes barefoot, and goes very dirty. So far it would be a skin more than around 700 in the game, if not because it is a pretty clear tribute to John McClane, the character played by Bruce Willis in the saga of Die Hard movies (known in Spain as « The jungle of crystal"). Fans of the Crystal Jungle saga will understand that, indeed, this new aspect of Fortnite's character is a reference / tribute to John McClane, the protagonist of that series of films, played by actor Bruce Willis. Specifically, it is a mixture of its aspects in the first and third films.
One of the most iconic moments of The Crystal Jungle is when John is left barefoot, a moment when villains take advantage of to shoot some crystals and that, having to flee, McClane steps on them and gets hurt. That is why the barefoot skin goes, worth the redundancy, barefoot.
The backpacking accessory refers to another of the highlights of the first film, in which John pretends to be unarmed in front of Hans Gruber, the villain, and one of his minions, but actually carries a gun attached to the back with American tape .
Finally, the Barefoot Plate is the police badge worn by John McClane in the third film: Crystal Jungle: Revenge / Die Hard with a Vengeance.
This is not the first time that Fortnite is honored in this way to action movie icons. Recall that, before John Wick came to the game officially, there was already a skin that was a clear tribute to the character played by Keanu Reeves.
