The decisions of Fortnite Chapter 2 players modify some of the henchmen's lairs. The conflict between SOMBRA and SPECTRO intensifies.
After the arrival of patch 12.10 of Season 2 of the Battle Pass, many Fortnite Chapter 2 players have noticed that there has been an interesting change on the stage, and it has to do with unlocking SOMBRA and SPECTRUM skins. We tell you everything you need to know about it below:
Fortnite Chapter 2: The Grotto is now a lair of SHADOW
As you will know by now, one of the main novelties of Season 2 of the Fortnite Battle Pass Chapter 2 was the inclusion of several henchmen's den. In these map-named locations, enemies controlled by AI appear.
One of these dens, La Gruta, located in the H5 quadrant of the map, was "neutral" at the beginning of the season. That is, the enemies that lived in it belonged neither to SOMBRA nor to SPECTRO, two of the factions that are facing each other in the history of Season 2 of Fortnite Chapter 2.
This capture was taken on February 27; Notice how both we and the henchman in the background wear "neutral" clothes
However, as players have been unlocking the additional SOMBRA or SPECTRO styles for the Brutus skin, it seems that the choice has influenced the scenario itself, since at the time we wrote this news, The Grotto "belongs" to the SOMBRA faction. This means that the enemies here are now wearing attires of this organization, including Brutus, the head of this den.
In this capture taken on March 6 you can see how Brutus and one of his minions wear SOMBRA attire
When checking social networks like Twitter or Reddit, it seems that there has been consensus among Fortnite players when it comes to unlocking the SOMBRA style of the skin Brutus (we could unlock one or the other, being mutually exclusive), which we understand has caused this Map area has been assigned to a specific faction. This change has not only been aesthetic, since each of the factions specializes in a type of weaponry. SPECTRO opts for stealth, so that in their lairs we find weapons with silencer such as sniper rifles, mufflers with silencer or guns with silencer. Instead, SOMBRA is committed to direct confrontation, and in its lairs we will find high-powered weapons such as heavy shooter rifles or miniguns.

In addition, reinforcing the fact that SOMBRA now controls La Gruta, a sculpted skull has appeared on the rock walls of one of the adjoining cliffs, which is very similar to the organization's logo.
A skull carved in rock has also appeared in La Gruta, similar to that of the SOMBRA logo
To sum up: the global choices of the players when choosing between unlocking a color variant of the Battle Pass skins also seem to alter the scenario itself, making one of the two factions (SHADOW or SPECTRUM) appropriate the area in which the specific character is a boss.
SPECTRUM vs. SHADOW
Throughout the different weeks of Season 2 of the Fortnite Battle Pass Chapter 2 and the players unlock the SOMBRA or SPECTRO styles of the Battle Pass skins, we should see changes in the rest of the lairs.
