On January 30, 2019 he arrived at Fortnite Chapter 2 – a title that is currently in Season 1 of the Battle Pass – without prior notice a variant of one of the most popular game modes: Team Fray. The great novelty of this alternative version, called "NFL Fray" is that all players will see their character replaced by one of the NFL skins. We tell you everything you need to know below:

Fortnite x Superbowl: this is the NFL Fray game mode

NFL Fray is a very simple variant of Equipment Fray. The basic rules are as follows:

  • Two teams of up to twenty players
  • 100 elimination limit
  • There are no demolitions (when we lose all health we die directly), or fire friend

However, on the occasion of the Superbowl celebration – the final match of the United States National Football League, which will be held on February 2, 2020 – all players entering the NFL Fray mode will see their skin replaced by one random NFL.

We have checked the daily store of skins and other cosmetic elements of the game, and these aspects of character were not in it as of January 30. They will probably return on the occasion of the Superbowl final (February 2) although Epic Games has not given any information in any of its official channels and social networks.

Regarding the skins of the NFL Fray mode: they are mere aesthetic additions. That is, none of these characters have, for example, more health or better aim than any other. For practical purposes, NFL Fray is exactly the same game mode as Team Fray, except for the fact that all players will see their avatar replaced by one dressed in American football equipment.
