FTL Faster than Light, seventh free game from Epic Games Store, now available

We put ourselves at the controls of a spaceship, which we will captain in order to exploit the galaxy and save humanity.

Santa Claus has already arrived, but the Epic Games Store gifts have not ended. The company plans to offer twelve free video games for Christmas, something it has been doing daily for just a week. After Celeste and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, Faster than Light time has arrived. At the speed of light, the game is available on the Epic platform and then will say goodbye. In fact, you can download it only until December 27 at 5:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time).

Once the clock reaches that time, a new title will appear for the enjoyment of the players. Although the name of the video game has not been revealed, an icon of a helmet appears, so it looks like it will have some martial touch. With respect to Faster than Light, it is a space exploration simulator in which we will be in command of a ship, as captain.

Every second counts: life or death decisions

We are facing a borderline situation in which we must make all the relevant decisions so that the crew is safe. Each confrontation introduces important challenges, so we will be forced to think of solutions when, for example, the shields of the boat are rendered useless. The galaxy, which is generated procedurally, gives us the possibility of living impressive space adventures.

Epic Games Store was born in December 2018 with the idea of taking part of the market to Steam. Although at the level of functionalities it is behind the Valve platform, the creators of Fortnite have reached powerful exclusivity agreements with large companies. On the other hand, from the beginning they advocated giving video games to players. The initial commitment was two monthly titles, but later, they made the decision to extend that number to the four titles. Since that time, works such as Rayman Legends, What Remains of Edith Finch or Batman Arkham Knight have been offered at no additional cost.
