Gears Tactics releases new trailer and release date

The real-time strategy Gears (RTS) spinf-off will arrive on PC in April, plagued with final bosses, personalization and a pre-Marcus story.

What is promised is debt. As Microsoft had assured, Gears Tactics has been present at The Game Awards 2019 and has left us a release date, April 28, 2020, and a new game trailer, which had raised some suspicions after missing the last E3 and The recent X019. The video has been responsible for clearing all our doubts and fears, offering us some brushstrokes of the story, which is set before the main saga and puts us in a timeline prior to Marcus FĂ©nix and company, when the war against the locust has just start.

"They came for us. They invaded every part of our planet," he begins by counting the trailer. "So we did the only thing we could do: we set the world on fire." In the shoes of Gabe Diaz and his team, all members of the CGO, we will undertake the search for one of the great leaders of the locust horde, Ukkon. A search that will take place with a new game system that puts aside the action in the third person and passes to the strategy in real time (RTS) with a clear aroma to XCOM.

As we see in the trailer, Gears Tactics is committed to strategy and personalization, and in it "every movement counts". Even more if we take into account the huge string of final bosses that we must defeat, among which the video already confirms the odd brumak and corpser giants. The game is being developed by The Coalition and Splash Damage (authors of Brink) and according to its creators it is "designed, built and developed on PC as the main platform". In fact, that April 28, 2020 refers to the component version, although it has also been confirmed that it will arrive on Xbox One shortly thereafter.

It will be available for departure on Xbox Game Pass and all those who book it or play for the first few days will receive Cole in his Trashball suit as a playable character.
