MiHoYo fixes an issue where the game kept using this program even when we closed the game, in the background.
MiHoYo, the Genshin Impact development studio, has reported that the problem reported during launch day where the PC version used an anti-cheat program in the background even when closing or uninstalling the game has been fixed. After the anger of many players, who thought they saw their personal data compromised, this problem has been solved.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.”
Through an official statement posted on the company’s website: “The production team has received some comments that, when opening Genshin Impact for PC, the game’s anti-cheat program was running automatically in the background, and that it was still running after exiting or uninstalling the game ”. However, they have had to apply the relevant changes; that is, if you close the game or uninstall it, the anti-cheat system will also close.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Going forward, we will pay more attention to problems like this. We will continue with the optimizations to offer travelers a better gaming experience ”, they add.
In addition, in case there was any doubt, miHoYo clarifies that “the Genshin Impact team and miHoYo ensure that we will never wrongly access or use the players’ private information”.
With more than 10 million registered players (of which 5 million correspond to the game’s launch day on September 28), Genshin Impact has become one of the games of the moment.
