Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard has declared that the Barcelona‑Catalunya Grand Prix will host George Russell’s dramatic return to front‑row racing.
On the Up To Speed podcast, Coulthard urged that Russell would claim the championship’s most coveted weekend, dubbing the fight “Rocky 3”‑style.
Will Buxton, however, insisted that rookie Kimi Antonelli will add a sixth win to his current sequence, arguing that the young driver’s pace and confidence make any challenger’s task daunting.
Antonelli, 19, stands at 156 points, comfortably ahead of Lewis Hamilton’s 90 and Russell’s 88, with Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri completing the top five.
Mercedes‑AMG’s W17 unit kept Russell’s momentum from the season‑opening Australian round and the Chinese sprint, but the new season still tests the car’s limits.
