Rockstar Games is reportedly developing a 60‑fps performance mode for GTA 6, but insiders say the feature may not be available until a post‑launch patch.
Performance Mode Uncertain at Launch
A recent episode of the Polish gaming podcast Rock and Borys revealed that Rockstar is creating two graphics modes for the upcoming title— a high‑quality mode and a performance mode. The hosts noted that, per their source, the company has not yet confirmed 60‑fps delivery at launch. The reports suggest that the 60‑fps option might arrive later, likely as part of a future update.
Xbox Series S Targeting 30‑fps
During the same interview, the podcast mentioned that the Xbox Series S build currently locks the game at 30‑fps. This aligns with a pattern observed in Rockstar’s recent releases, where newer graphics modes appear after initial launch, as happened with the Witcher 3 expansion.
Ray Tracing Confirmation
Additionally, a retail listing for GTA 6 has confirmed that ray tracing support will be available, giving players a clear expectation for the game’s graphical fidelity.
