Half Death Stranding team comes from Konami

Half of Kojima Productions left the company to follow Hideo Kojima when he was fired from Konami, according to the game's credits.

With the release of Death Stranding around the corner (the game will be released tomorrow November 8 on PlayStation 4), more and more details about its development begin to come to light. The last thing we have known is the number of members of Kojima Productions that belonged to Konami and therefore left the company to follow Hideo Kojima when he was fired. According to Videogames Chronicle, which has thoroughly studied the credits of the game, the study is currently made up of 117 developers, of which 65 come from Konami. Among the latter, up to 60 were part of the latest project of the Japanese genius in Konami, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, where about 250 people worked. That is to say that about 24% of the members of that one have repeated with Kojima and on this occasion they have carried out more than 50% of the work.

Help from Guerrilla, Bend and Insomniac

It is not the only detail of the Death Stranding credits, in which, curiously, several of Sony's first party studios are also mentioned. Specifically, Guerrilla Games (Killzone, Horizon Zero Dawn), Bend Studio (Syphon Filter, Days Gone) and Insomniac Games (Ratchet & Clank, Marvel's Spider-Man). In the cases of Bend Studio and Insomniac, both companies appear as “support partners”, while in Guerrilla Games, more than 70 people are mentioned, including some of the main programming leaders of Horizon Zero Dawn. This should also not be surprising since, we remember, Death Stranding uses the Tenth Engine, a graphic engine developed by Guerrilla, which Kojima has thanked on more than one occasion. And interestingly, even with the presence of so many Sony collaborators, Death Stranding will make the leap to PC in the summer of 2020.

Just a few days ago we reviewed the traumatic dismissal of Kojima by Konami, which clearly seems to have come out better stopped the creative. Death Stranding has risen with an 8 in the FreeGameTips Reviews, in which we highlighted a graphic and sound section of authentic luxury, an interesting story and some memorable moments, factors that were opposed to a very basic combat system and stealth , as well as its low variety of missions and a sense of emptiness and repetitiveness.
