Half-Life Alyx: first trailer, details and release date on PC

Valve shares the first video preview of his new adventure for virtual reality on Steam with the first screenshots, requirements and much more.

Half-Life returns, it was already official and now it is corroborated with a new trailer that shows us the first game of narrative nature that Valve has made since Portal 2. After more than a decade dreaming of Half-Life 3, Gabe's company Newell boasts his well-known disdain for the conventional or expected and bets on virtual reality as the vehicle to return to City 17 and put ourselves in the shoes of one of the most iconic characters in the video game, an Alyx that became the soul of the Gordon Freeman speechless, giving an essential expressiveness and emotion to the adventure that Half-Life 2 and its episodes live.

Available on Steam in March 2020

In the trailer you can see that we are facing a new adventure in this universe, with all of the law, with a new plot around the daughter of Eli Vance. The trailer does not clarify much about the story, but we can say that it includes very familiar faces for the fan of the saga. It is also loaded with action, showing various weapons and that physical reactivity for which Half-Life 2 shone in its day.

One of the most notorious novelties is in gravitational gloves, a miniaturization of gravity gun that not only opens up great possibilities in the game, but also seems an elegant design decision to the coarseness problems of some shoot'em up actually virtual. Thanks to them we can attract weapons and objects at will, perfectly fitting them in our virtual hands.

Half-Life: Alyx will deepen the impossible fight against an alien race known as the Alliance; Alyx, our protagonist, will be the only option to save humanity from its disappearance thanks to its technological ingenuity against the dangerous invading civilization.
