Valve's virtual reality game is a completely new installment in the series, but players have found some additional uses.
Valve's new production is already on the market. Half-Life: Alyx is the expected return of this mythical saga to video games, but its return has not occurred with the mouse and keyboard in mind, but has been built for a very specific technology, virtual reality. Beyond its video game mechanics, the production has sparked the imagination of gamers and motivated some to use these tools for other purposes. For example, Charles Coomber, a teacher at the Otay Ranch Academy for the Arts in Californa, has taught a geometry class by drawing the shapes on the board that appears at the beginning of the game.
It is not the only one that has used virtual reality to offer more imaginative approaches. One of the users has skipped the limitation of two slots in the inventory and has used baskets to carry equipment. More eschatological is what Liz Edwards, character designer at Ubisoft Montral, has done. The developer has reproduced one of the most important hygienic inventions of the human being, the latrine.

Gabe Newell: "You only have two inventory slots in Half-Life: Alyx. But you also have realistic physics."

What about In the Valley of Gods after the release of Half-Life: Alyx?
Campo Santo, the studio responsible for Firewatch, was working at In the Valley of Gods when Valve acquired the company. After integrating into their new destiny, the developers began to disintegrate around other projects, so many of them ended up helping in the development of Half-Life: Alyx. There came a time when they realized that it was better to freeze their video game to focus on the rest of Valve's projects. Now that Alyx has gone on sale, the situation in In the Valley of Gods remains the same, frozen. The good news is that the title is not canceled.
Half-Life: Alyx is available on PC, exclusively for Steam VR. It is a prequel to Half-Life 2, so from the studio it is recommended to have fresh previous games before they get into the new adventure.
