A new Candy Crush-style puzzle game for mobile devices from the Harry Potter franchise is announced by Portkey Games for iOS and Android.
Zynga and Portkey Games have announced a new game for iOS and Android mobile devices based on a puzzle system similar to the popular Candy Crush but set in the Harry Potter universe. It will be available to download soon on Android (Google Play) and iOS (Apple Store) in our territory and we already have a first trailer that shows your keys. Despite not being the rumored "great game" of Harry Potter that we are still waiting for, this new experience for smartphones aims to appeal to all those players of titles such as the aforementioned King's Candy Crush, one of the undisputed kings among mobile games .
A new mobile title encompassed in the Harry Potter universe
Harry Potter Puzzles and Spells is having a soft-launch as it has become available in certain territories such as the Philippines since last March of this 2020. Therefore, we can already read some user reviews in digital stores in which the Title will be unlocked soon.
The game proposes a puzzle system in which we have to match various gems (or sweets) of the same type and color to make them disappear and the available map changes to complete the proposed challenge before the time limit expires. As a novelty compared to other similar titles, this work promises to add key elements of the young wizard saga such as scenarios (Diagon Alley, on platform 9¾, Hogwarts stairs full of magical portraits, etc.) in addition to the appearance of characters acquaintances of the franchise, the use of spells, and the making of potions. All this cannot be seen yet in the available trailer, in which we can only see the already known combinations of colored jewels.
We remember that Portkey Games are part of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and are the developers behind other mobile experiences such as Wizards Unite and Hogwarts Mystery, so they have the license to launch titles from the magic franchise created by J.K. Rowling and further expand one of the most prolific literary universes of modern times.
