How to play Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions?

A few days after his departure, Bandai Namco releases a trailer showing the controls and mechanics of the new Oliver and Benji game, including an infernal catapult.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is just around the corner. Oliver and Benji’s new game will be released on Steam, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on August 28, which is why Bandai Namco thought it was a good time to explain how to play and what kind of controls an arcade has football like that, so wonderfully crazy. “If you are waiting for a soccer game like the ones you know, you may be in for a surprise”, this is how the new Captain Tsubasa gameplay begins, which serves as an instruction manual and for seven minutes it explains all the secrets of its gameplay . You will even learn how to make the infernal catapult.

Two story modes and two online modes

In recent days we have also gradually learned about the different game modes of Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions. We have discovered, for example, that there will be two campaign modes: Episode Tsubasa and Episode: New. The first one follows the story of Tsubasa Ozora / Oliver Atom, reviewing the great deeds that are narrated in the manga and anime. A tribute to the games, tournaments and characters that marked our childhood: the comings and goings with Mark Lenders, the duel with the Derrick twins, or the games against Ed Warner (the karate goalkeeper) or Clifford Yuma (the butcher), among many others. For its part, the second will be a kind of El Camino, from FIFA, where we will create an avatar from scratch and take it to the top. We will start in high school, there will be decision making and we will have to overcome many training sessions, mini-games and games to reach the top of the football scene.

For its part, Captain Tsubasa’s online mode will also offer two options: one against one or two against two matches, playing cooperatively with another person who can be at our side (local cooperative) or be random and arranged by the servers. It will combine both in leagues and online tournaments, in which we can choose which team we play with with total freedom, creating a kind of Dream Team in which, of course, Oliver and Benji are together. Finally we leave you with a link to all editions of the game, ranging from standard to legend (which amounts to 2000 euros and includes a table football from the series).
