John Wick creator would like to bring My Friend Pedro to television

Derek Kolstad has also proposed an adaptation of Bendy and the Ink Machine, another independent video game.

In addition to the adaptations to the cinema, the video game has begun to look sideways at television. It is not for less. The rise of platforms like Netflix, Disney Plus or HBO has triggered domestic and serial productions. While waiting for The Last of Us series to reveal new details, Derek Kolstad – creator of John Wick, the saga starring Keanu Reeves -, has mentioned in an interview with Comic Book that he would like to bring two video games to television, nothing more and no less than the independent titles My Friend Pedro and Bendy and the Ink Machine.

"If I can emulate and replicate the success I had with John Wick somewhere, I will be that 11-year-old boy who sneaks into an older movie, laughing," he explains. "I am going to present a television proposal based on the video game My Friend Pedro, as well as Bendy and the Ink Machine." Of course, it will be necessary to see if the projects go ahead or not. At the moment, the creative is working on the fourth John Wick movie.

My Friend Pedro is an independent video game developed by DeadToast and published by Devolver Digital. The production combines action and shooting with all kinds of stunts. On the other hand, Bendy and the Ink Machine takes us to Joey Drew Studios. There we will live an adventure with touches of terror that will force us to solve puzzles.

The Last of Us on HBO

The surprise jumped months ago, just before the confinement by the coronavirus began in Spain. Neil Druckmann, director of The Last of Us Part 2, announced that the video game would have a television adaptation. Although the cast has not been announced, it will continue the story of Ellie and Joel, all under the creative vision of Druckmann himself and Craig Mazin, well known for the success of the Chernobyl series.

It is not directly related to video games, but Netflix's The Witcher has been successful after the triumph of titles developed by CD Projekt RED.
