Jorge Martin’s 15‑year Red Bull sponsorship has officially ended following Aprilia’s announcement of a new title partnership with Monster Energy.
Aprilia accelerates Monster Energy agreement
On Friday, Aprilia confirmed that Monster Energy will replace Red Bull as its title sponsor, moving a deal originally slated for 2027 forward to the current season. The green‑claw branding appeared on the RS‑GPs of both Martin and teammate Marco Bezzecchi during practice for the Italian Grand Prix.
The influx of Monster’s backing arrives as the Italian constructor channels funds into the development of a new 850 cc racing machine, enhancing its long‑term competitiveness.
Consequences for Martin and the squad
Martin, the 2024 world champion, first learned of the sponsorship shift at the Catalan Grand Prix and subsequently appeared at a pre‑Mugello event wearing a standard Aprilia cap instead of his custom Red Bull helmet. He told Motorsport.com Spain, “That’s how it is – any economic improvement that adds value to the team translates into upgrades and development.”
When asked whether the Red Bull partnership could be paused, the Spaniard clarified that the alliance has ceased for the moment, leaving open the possibility of a future reunion but confirming no current collaboration.
Continuing ties with Red Bull
Despite the split, Martin emphasized that his relationship with Red Bull remains strong and that he could still access the Red Bull Performance Centre in Salzburg if needed. “My relationship with Red Bull has always been incredible, and I think it will continue being very, very good,” he affirmed.
The termination marks a significant shift for Martin, who credits Red Bull for launching his career through the Rookies Cup, yet acknowledges the new sponsor’s financial impact on Aprilia’s ambitious projects.
