Kalle Rovanpera has received medical clearance to resume single‑seat racing after a health condition halted his planned 2026 Super Formula campaign.
Medical Clearance
The 25‑year‑old Finn, slated to partner with Toyota Gazoo Racing for a full‑time Super Formula season, withdrew in March following a diagnosis of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, a vestibular disorder affecting balance and vision.
Recovery Support
Since the December test withdrawal, Rovanpera has been working with the Finnish Institute of High Performance Sport (KHU) in Jyväskylä to address the underlying inner‑ear issue and rebuild fitness.
Toyota’s Commitment
In a recent statement, Toyota Gazoo Racing confirmed that the driver has re‑started physical training and is now positioned for a “phased return to driving.” The company highlighted the collaboration with KHU as a key aspect of the rehabilitation process.
Road to 2027
Both Rovanpera and the Toyota team target competitive racing in 2027, with further updates expected as the phased plan unfolds.
