His last job in the video game was in Final Fantasy VII Remake voicing Reno. One of his most popular roles was that of Hiroshi, Shin-Chan's father.

Keiji Fujiwara's agency announced today that the dubbing actor died on April 12 at the age of 55, a victim of cancer. In 2016 he had already been away for a few months for unknown reasons, but in 2017 he seemed to resume the activity, which allowed him, for example, to give life to Reno, one of the antagonists in the recent Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Shin-Chan's father

Fujiwara was quite a star with a long and distinguished career in animation and video games. Undoubtedly, his most well-known role has been that of Hiroshi Noara, the father of Shin-Chan, a role that he has continuously played since 1992, spanning over 20 years of series and numerous films starring the Noara family. Among numerous stellar moments, his interpretation of "Kita Saitama Blues" stands out, an enka song that the actor himself sang in the series and that stars in one of his most emotional moments.

Fujiwara's list of memorable characters is huge. It was Colonel Maes Hughes in Full metal Alchemist, Leorio in Hunter X Hunter or Shuichi Aizawa in Death Note. He has been Reno of Final Fantasy in his different appearances, such as in the animated film Advent Children or in the recent Final Fantasy VII Remake. He masterfully played the maddened Aldyn in Final Fantasy XV and Axel from Kingdom Hearts, as well as Gabriel Belmont in the Japanese version of Castlevania: Lords of Shadows and many other roles that he always played with the poise and personality of a seiyuu master.
