Konami – Significant drop in profits, Silent Hill development as reason?

Playfront

These days, publishers are again presenting their current quarterly figures, which particularly include past Christmas sales. Actually a reason to be happy for the companies, except for Konami, who have to spend a significant drop in profits here.

The profit for the current 2019/20 financial year has almost halved, even though sales have increased somewhat compared to the previous year. The publisher justifies this by the fact that one is currently investing in “new games”, which at first sounds logical.

Another reference to Silent Hill?

Even though Konami has not yet said which games are in the works alongside the PES series, one believes from the annual report that it may be the speculated Silent Hill that you may be working on again.

Recently there have been new rumors that Konami is currently looking at how to get the franchise back. So there should be several projects in progress, including an episode format and a triple-A game. A renewed attempt is speculated together with Hideo Kojima, who would still like to develop a horror game.

In general, the publishers are currently dealing with higher expenses, as is known that this year there is a generation change that is being prepared for with new projects. However, none of this is official yet, which is why the whole thing still has to be classified as a rumor.
