League of Legends (LOL): 10.9 patch notes; all changes and news

This version is especially focused on balancing characters and correcting some of the bugs that are still going on.

The TeamFight Tactics and Valorant beta patches are out now, as is update 10.9 for League of Legends, the veteran video game from Riot Games. As usual, the company has released the patch two weeks after the previous one. Among the novelties that are contemplated is the balance of the champions: they weaken Nami and Karthus a little, since they have detected "that they are doing too well". Others, however, will receive some additional reinforcement. For their part, Lissandra and Quinn get improvements, as does Wukong.

Here are the patch notes:

League of Legends

Champions

Bard

W movement speed decreased and cooldown increased. E cooldown increased.

Bardo has been amassing an increasing number of wins in the top solo queue squares, so we're going to reduce some of his ability to help other streets so that his overall profit is less.

W – Shrine of the Protector

  • MOVEMENT SPEED 50%, which decreases over 1.5 s ⇒ 30%, which decreases over 1.5 s.
  • COOLDOWN 12s ⇒ 14s

E – Magic Pearl

  • COOLDOWN 18/17/16/15/14 s ⇒ 22 / 20.5 / 19 / 17.5 / 16 s

Cho'Gath

E damage increased towards the end of the game.

Our void beast has been having a hard time on the upper street, so we're going to improve the skill he uses the most on that street to enhance his terrifying tank facet.

E – Deadly spikes

  • DAMAGE 22/34/46/58/70 ⇒ 22/37/52/67/82.

Fiddlesticks

E damage increased towards the end of the game.

Just because he's a creepy scarecrow with a scythe doesn't mean Fiddlesticks can't be of use to his comrades on the street. We're going to do a little more damage to your main street support skill in order to more adequately help your comp in fights.

E – Mow

  • DAMAGE 70/100/130/160/190 ⇒ 70/105/140/175/210.

Gnar

Q cooldown increased. E damage increased.

Despite numerous improvements over the past year, Gnar continues to disappoint in most games. We will cautiously increase Mega-Gnar's potential in the long skirmishes, without losing sight of the power it already has elsewhere. Shugi Shugi Shugi.

Q – Peñascazo

  • RETURN OF COOLDOWN ON COLLECTING THE ROCK 60% ⇒ 70%

E – Shake

  • DAMAGE 50/85/120/155/190 ⇒ 80/115/150/185/220.

Karthus

Basic movement speed decreased.

Karthus has been ravaging the jungle, so let's slow his feet down. To do this, we will focus on your ability to move around the map and try, as far as possible, that this does not affect you when playing on the central street.

Basic statistics

  • MOVEMENT SPEED 335 ⇒ 325

Kayn

Q cooldown reduced; bonus damage is now applied to minions. Decreasing W slowdown increases.

The latest series of tweaks we implemented for Kayn have failed to get him out of the shadows, so we're going to improve it a bit so that overall his impact on the game is greater, from ambushes to duels. We hope that incorporating damage to minions from his Q will give Kayn more positional flexibility, and that shorter cooldowns and increased slowdowns will help players focus on faster jungle clearances and skirmishes early in the game.

Q – Scythe Cut

  • COOLDOWN 7 / 6.5 / 6 / 5.5 / 5s ⇒ 6 / 5.5 / 5 / 4.5 / 4s
  • MONSTER MASH Now bonus damage against monsters will also be applied to minions.

W – Blade Strike

  • DECREASING SLOW 70% ⇒ 90%

Lissandra

Q cooldown reduced.

Taking into account that the ice queen is no longer present in the professional scene and that she still does not measure up at all levels of the game, we have decided to back off and eliminate one of the most severe impairments she received when dominating the professional games .

Q – Ice Shard

  • COOLDOWN 10 / 8.5 / 7 / 5.5 / 4s ⇒ 8/7/6/5/4 s.

Nami

Basic life and mana are reduced. The movement speed of your passive is reduced.

For some time now, Nami has not descended from the crest of the wave, so we have decided to decrease her power a little by subtracting some of the movement speed that she grants to the allies without affecting in any way their identity as powerful healer (and surfer).

Basic statistics

  • LIFE 489.32 ⇒ 475.
  • MANA 377.24 ⇒ 365.
  • Passive – Swell
  • MOVEMENT SPEED 60 ⇒ 45

Quinn

Increases the duration of Q near vision.

It's been a while since the last time we cared for Quinn, especially considering the recent upgrades to her melee compis from Upper Street. In your case, we are going to focus on its usefulness instead of the damage as a nod to the Crimson Blade upgrade (spoiler), because we predict that from now on you will buy more.

Q – Blinding Assault

  • NEAR VISION DURATION 1.5s ⇒ 1.75s

Trundle

R cooldown increased.

Trundle has been handing out firewood to all of his opponents, regardless of their life or the risk they pose, especially on the professional scene. We're going to control his ability to make others more vulnerable a little more, forcing him to fight in fairer conditions more often.

R – Subjugate

  • COOLDOWN 100/80/60 s ⇒ 120/100/80 s

Wukong

Basic armor reduced. Q damage reduced. W clone damage reduced.

We have observed that players were able to master (and effectively) the added power of the Wukong update right away, so we are going to calibrate it to have it more controlled.

Basic statistics

  • ARMOR 34 ⇒ 31

Q – Crushing blow

  • DAMAGE 30/55/80/105/130 ⇒ 20/45/70/95/120.

W – Rogue Warrior

  • CLONE DAMAGE 40/45/50/55/60% ⇒ 35/40/45/50/55%

Objects

Crimson leaf

The cost is reduced. Attack damage increased.

Crimson Blade has been a bit sidelined lately, especially since it features that more specific role that doesn't suit every state of the game. If we add to that the little effectiveness it has with the allies, it could be more generous with the statistics it grants.

  • COST 1100 gold ⇒ 1000 gold
  • ATTACK DAMAGE 50 ⇒ 55

ARAM balance changes

Improvements of version 10.9

  • Nocturne +8% damage dealt and -8% damage taken ⇒ +10% damage dealt and -10% damage taken.
  • Zed +5% damage dealt ⇒ +5% damage dealt and -5% damage taken.

Weaknesses of version 10.9

  • Gallium Normal ⇒ +5% damage taken
  • Urgot Normal ⇒ -5% damage dealt
  • Xin Zhao -5% damage taken. ⇒ Normal

Return of the Essence Emporium

  • The Essence Emporium returns from April 30 to May 13, 2020! Spend blue essences on exclusive icons, chromas, and skins.
  • This time, we are going to improve the popular mystery champion icon boxes. We haven't changed anything you loved, but there are a few minor tweaks to the experience:
  • For a full list of the icons you can get with each box, take a look at the item's description.
  • When you buy a Champion Icon Mystery Box, it will now appear in the Hextech Crafting tab (where you have your skin fragments, prestige points, and event symbols).
  • If you receive an icon that you already own, you can disenchant it to receive a full refund of the cost of blue essences.

Bug fixes and quality changes

  • The Sylas Ultimate counter for specific champions is no longer displayed in Spectator mode.
  • Phrases from Ascension to Azir, Cassiopeia, Renekton, Sivir and Xerath have been added.
  • Aatrox's taunting phrases have moved to the place of his pranks. Three of the relive phrases from their old definitive are now provocative.
  • Fixed a champion selection bug causing exchanges to cancel if more than one exchange was occurring at the same time.
  • Now when Neeko takes on the appearance of an ally Kayn with her Passive – Innate Charm, she will correctly take on the appearance of Shadow Slayer or Rhaast if she has transformed.
  • Lee Sin's Dragon's R – Wrath of Adherence to an Enemy gauge will no longer be visible in the Fog of War.
  • Viktor's Q – Power Transfer powered basic attacks no longer have the ability to destroy Guardians with two hits.
  • Lux's Final R – Spark no longer completely cools if killed during cast.
  • Kled now properly gains Courage by attacking champions when not mounted.
  • Riven's Q – Broken Wings will now properly trigger Conqueror and give him four stacks of the rune when used twice quickly on the same target.
  • Now when Fiora blocks Jhin's basic attacks with the W-Replica, he will no longer get a false Mark of Pillared from Jhin's point of view.
  • Lee Sin's W – Safeguard now properly treats allied clones as champions and properly shields them when it glides to one of them.
  • Sett will no longer be interrupted by terrain obstacles created by a player (such as Jarvan's R – Cataclysm when casting R – The Big Show).
  • Thresh's Dark Star Lantern is now visible after the champion has died and reappeared.
  • Shaco's clone no longer gains movement speed buff thanks to Cloak of the Nimbus.
  • Crack Slipper's speed zone now works properly outside of the Realm of Death, even when Mordekaiser captures the champion who has killed Sneaky with his R – Realm of Death.
  • Miss Fortune Passive – Cachete-powered basic attacks now correctly stack Conqueror.

When Warwick casts Q – The Maw of the Beast on a Sion that is about to reappear during his Passive – Glory in Death, he will no longer be transported to the actual Sion at the enemy source.

Caitlyn's W – Yordles Trap now only boosts one basic attack properly.

Shaco no longer gets a double kill or doubles the amount of gold by killing with his clone and casting double-edged E – Poison during the enemy Mordekaiser's R – Realm of Death.

Damage caused by active items will properly trigger Dark Harvest.
