League of Legends, patch 10.24; changes and news

Riot Games publishes the 10.24 LoL patch notes, which we provide in full in this article.

After the big League of Legends update, Patch 10.24 is not that bulky, but it does add item-centric changes, all while Riot Games continues to study changes to the new ecosystem. In addition, behavior systems have also been updated in order to “mitigate the impact of offline or inactive players.”

Next, we offer you all the details of the new update. Take a look at the patch notes:

League of Legends Patch 10.24

Amumu balance correction

  • Amumu has benefited a lot from this preseason, as many item changes have great synergy with her skill kit. The initial debuffs from 10.24 weren’t enough, so let’s try again.

Basic statistics

  • MANA GROWTH 60 ⇒ 40 (reverting an upgrade from 10.23)

E – Tantrum

  • DAMAGE 75/100/125/150/175 (+ 50% of AP) ⇒ 75/95/115/135/155 (+ 50% of AP)

R – Curse of the Sad Mummy

  • STUN DURATION 2 seconds ⇒ 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 seconds

Error correction

Dr. World

  • BUG FIXES Fixed a bug that caused Dr. Mundo’s Passive – Adrenaline Rush health regen to not work.

Elise

  • BUGFIX Elise’s Q – Venomous Spider Bite now correctly deals damage again. Elise has been reactivated.

Gragas

  • BUGFIX Gragas’s Q – Rolling Barrel no longer deals maximum damage even without charging.

Champions

Amumu

  • W long damage reduced.
  • New items and systems have taken Amumu from being strong to being too powerful. We’re reducing some of its over-time damage, which has particularly benefited from the item upgrade.

W – Despair

  • BASE LONG-TERM DAMAGE 5 / 7.5 / 10 / 12.5 / 15 ⇒ 4/6/8/10/12
  • DAMAGE RATIO 0.5% of AP per 100 AP (every half second) ⇒ 0.25% of AP per 100 AP (every half second)
  • BUGFIX Damage no longer triggers sometimes at a slightly increased rate.

Hecarim

  • Passive bonus movement speed conversion to bonus damage reduced. E bonus movement speed reduced late in game, and skill bug fixed.
  • The new items give Hecarim too much free rein to gallop. So we’re reducing the power of his Devastating Charge and the AD he gains when he sprints.

Passive – Path of War

  • BONUS MOVEMENT SPEED CONVERSION TO BONUS DAMAGE 15-30% (levels 1/3/6/9/12/15/18) ⇒ 12-24% (levels 1/3/6/9/12/15/18) .

E – Devastating Charge

  • BONUS MOVEMENT SPEED 25-85% (depending on how long it remains active) ⇒ 25-75% (depending on how long it remains active).
  • BUGFIX Hecarim no longer gains more than 25% movement speed right after using E – Devastating Charge.

Kalista

  • Fixed a bug about the transfer of Rend from Q. Fixed a bug about E damage ratio.
  • We’re reverting some Kalista debuffs that we implemented by mistake in patch 10.23.

Q – Traverse

  • RIP TRANSFER ERROR CORRECTION Fixed a bug where killing a target with Pierce would not have its Rend stacks carry over to the next target hit.

E – Tear

  • DAMAGE RATIO ERROR CORRECTION Kalista’s Rend ability now correctly scales at 60% of her AD. Each additional spear now progresses at 19.8 / 23,748 / 27,498 / 31,248 / 34,998% of its AD.

Kayle

  • Passive bonus attack speed reduced.
  • We’re partially rolling back the change to Kayle’s passive from 10.23 to reduce her ability to accumulate power.

Passive – Divine Ascent

  • BONUS ATTACK SPEED 2% per 100 ability power ⇒ 1% per 100 ability power

Samira

  • Melee sword bonus damage ratio and dash range against rooted enemies reduced.
  • With more items at her disposal that grant both life steal and critical damage, Samira poses a threat on the street, even when on the ropes. We’re going to weaken his overall potential so he has to think twice about getting into the fray, gun (and sword) in hand.

Passive – Reckless Impulse

  • BODY-TO-BODY SWORD DAMAGE RATIO 10% DA ⇒ 7.5% DA
  • SLIDING RANGE AGAINST FREEZE ENEMIES 800/850/900/950/1000 (level 1/4/8/12/16) ⇒ 650/725/800/875/950 (level 1/4/8/12/16).

Tryndamere

  • Q bonus attack damage and bonus attack damage increased for every 1% health missing.
  • Tryndamere deals fewer critical hits and they do less damage, so we’re increasing their damage.
  • BONUS ATTACK DAMAGE FROM Q – BLOOD THIRST 5/10/15/20/25 ⇒ 10/15/20/25/30
  • BONUS ATTACK DAMAGE FOR EVERY 1% OF HEALTH MISSING 0.15 / 0.2 / 0.25 / 0.3 / 0.35 ⇒ 0.15 / 0.25 / 0.35 / 0.45 / 0 , 55.

Varus

  • Q Infection detonation cooldown reduction removed; Damage caused by Blight effects when detonated with Q increases with charge time by up to 50%; Q now displays Critical Damage text when fully charged. W bonus damage reduced; Detonating a Blight charge against enemy champions or epic monsters now reduces all cooldowns on base abilities by 12% of maximum cooldown per stack. R now makes Varus turn to face the direction he is casting the ability at the start of casting; missile speed is reduced.
  • As a high-priority pick on the pro scene, the tweaks to Varus have left gamers unsatisfied. For revenge, we’re taking power away from the elements that are often strong on the professional scene, such as reliable adversary control and street harassment, and reinvigorating you with a unique playstyle with charged arrows and launch skills.

Q – Piercing Arrow

  • INFECTION COOLDOWN REDUCTION Cooldown is no longer reduced by 3 seconds if Piercing Arrow triggers an enemy’s Infection.
  • UP THE BOW Damage dealt by Infection effects when detonated with Piercing Arrow now increases based on charge time by up to 50% (in addition to increasing Piercing Arrow damage by up to 50%).
  • VISUAL EFFECT Piercing Arrow will now display Critical Damage text when fully charged.

W – Infected Quiver

  • BONUS DAMAGE 7 / 10.5 / 14 / 17.5 / 21 ⇒ 7/8/9/10/11
  • DOWN THE ARC Now detonating a stack of Infection against enemy champions or epic monsters reduces all cooldowns on base abilities by 12% per stack.

R – Chain of Corruption

  • LOOK BACK Varus now turns to look in the direction of his target at the start of the cast.
  • MISSILE SPEED 1950 ⇒ 1500

Yasuo

  • Passive double critical damage is now calculated after Guinsoo’s Blade of Fury’s on-hit effect.
  • Yasuo’s double critical hit chance was so powerful with Guinsoo’s Fury Blade that the only correct choice was to always buy that item first. This change fixes excessive synergy. Full transparency: With interactions (like this one) in mind, we’re working on the next release to introduce a change that will make Guinsoo’s Rage Blade remove crit chance from users instead of avoiding crit. If you’re wondering if you need to learn Guinsoo’s Fury Blade playstyle to continue playing with Yasuo in preseason, the answer is no.

Passive – Path of the Wandering Soul

  • ORDER OF OPERATIONS Path of the Wandering Soul’s critical effects now wait to activate until any other critical effects have been resolved. This means that the critical chance is no longer doubled before Guinsoo’s Fury Blade calculates its damage on hit.

I ne

  • Passive double critical damage is now calculated after Guinsoo’s Blade of Fury’s on-hit effect.
  • The same context as for Yasuo (above) applies!

Passive – Hunter’s Path

  • ORDER OF OPERATIONS Hunter’s Path critical effects now wait to trigger until any other critical effects have been resolved. This means that the critical chance is no longer doubled before Guinsoo’s Fury Blade calculates its damage on hit.

Objects

Blade of the ruined King

  • Blade of the Ruined King performs far too well compared to other legendary items it competes with. We reduce its power so that it is more on par with the others.
  • TOTAL COST 3100 gold ⇒ 3200 gold
  • ATTACK SPEED 30% ⇒ 25%

Cosmic impulse

  • Increases the power of Cosmic Rush to cement its position as a viable second item option.
  • ABILITY POWER 70 ⇒ 75

Demonic embrace

  • Demonic Embrace along with Nashor’s Tooth and Lich’s Bane are dominating the second item slot, so we’re taking some of the power out of it.
  • AZAKANA GAZE BURN DAMAGE 1.5% of target’s maximum health as magic burn damage every second for 4 seconds ⇒ 1.2% of target’s maximum health as magic burn damage every second for 4 seconds

Eclipse

  • COOLDOWN 6 seconds for melee champions; 12 seconds for ranged champions ⇒ 8 seconds for melee champions; 16 seconds for ranged champions.

Embers knife

  • We’re re-enabling jungle stamina for AoE castors that have suffered from the recent changes. This includes a small adjustment to the overall numbers, as most jungles have some form of area damage that they will benefit from.
  • The area effect only specifically applies to Ember Knife and Hail Sword.
  • OMNISUCTION 12% ⇒ 10% (including area damage)

Hail Sword

  • See: Ember Knife.
  • OMNISUCTION 12% ⇒ 10% (including area damage)

  • BUGFIX FOR GUINSOO’S FURY BLADE Guinsoo’s Fury Blade now correctly triggers at all ranges when the wearer also has Kraken Slayer.

Liandry’s Heartbreak

  • Liandry’s Heartbreak is too strong, especially for wizards who can consistently apply her extended damage effect. We’re slowing down the AP ratio progression to remove some of the late-game power.
  • TORMENT DAMAGE RATIO 2.5% AP ⇒ 1.5% AP

Bane of the lich

  • We’re reducing the Lich’s Bane’s AP ratio, which has contributed to high explosive damage situations late in the game.
  • DAMAGE RATIO 50% of AP ⇒ 40% of AP

Luden’s Tempest

  • Luden’s Tempest grants too much movement speed to champions whose mobility should be at a disadvantage. Now slightly less tempestuous by reducing its explosive damage.
  • ECHO MOVEMENT SPEED 30% ⇒ 15%
  • ECHO DAMAGE RATIO 15% of AP ⇒ 10% of AP

Moonstone Renovation

  • BUGFIX We have fully fixed a bug that caused Moonstone Renewal to not refresh if the ally was in champion combat, but the owner was not.
  • STAR GRACE HEAL 30-60 (allied levels 1-18), increased by 37.5% for every second in combat against champions (max: 150%) ⇒ 60-90 (allied levels 1-18 ), increasing by 25% for every second in champion combat (maximum: 100%).

Nashor tooth

  • Nashor’s Tooth grants a combination of damage with a large number of stats, which has made the item too strong for users to take advantage of both. Let’s adjust its damage on hitting.
  • ICATHIA BITE DAMAGE RATIO 25% of AP ⇒ 20% of AP

Night harvester

  • Night Harvester and Hextech Cynthomissil contribute to some of the high explosive damage situations we’re trying to mitigate.
  • SOUL RIP DAMAGE 175-250 magic damage (levels 1-18) ⇒ 125-200 (levels 1-18)

Hextech cytomissile

  • TOTAL COST 2900 gold ⇒ 2700 gold
  • SPECTRAL VALS DURATION 2 seconds ⇒ 3 seconds

Marauder’s Claw

  • ATTACK DAMAGE 55 ⇒ 60
  • SAND BIRD CLAW ATTACK DAMAGE 75 ⇒ 80

Crevasse

  • Riftcrackers’ power reduced to match that of other Mythics while maintaining the Mythic pick structure.
  • VOID CORRUPTION DAMAGE 3% per second (max 15%) ⇒ 2% per second (max 10%)

Snake fang

  • Although Snake Fang is a strong item, it hasn’t seen much action, so we’re increasing its damage to make it a solid situational powerful item option for assassins.
  • SHIELD MOWING DAMAGE 50 physical damage ⇒ 70 physical damage

Goddess Tear Line

  • Users of Tear of the Goddess have been hit hard by the new item system and stacks for this particular item. We’re increasing the frequency of the stacks of Tear of the Goddess to give it a little boost. The mana values of the Tear items have been adjusted as a result.

Tear of the goddess

  • MANA 150 ⇒ 240
  • MAXIMUM BONUS MANA 450 ⇒ 360

Staff of the Archangel

  • MANA 400 ⇒ 500

Manamune

  • MANA 400 ⇒ 500

Seraph’s Embrace

  • MANA 850 ⇒ 860

Muramana

  • MANA 850 ⇒ 860

Central Street Minion Changes

  • Central lane players have a great deal of power at all levels of play. We believe that reducing the amount of power in this lane a bit early and mid-game will correct this, as well as weakening the marauding champions. For the record, these changes were implemented in version 10.23, but were not documented; so if you’ve been keeping track, you haven’t lost your mind.
  • Cannon minions on Center Lane now grant 10 less gold.
  • Center lane cannon minions now have 30% increased attack speed against turrets.

Behavior system news

  • As we approach the end of the year, we have also completed the PL Loss Reduction and Early Surrender projects we mentioned in September, and they are ready for your feedback! We have implemented the following:
  • If an inactive player is detected on the team after 10 minutes, a surrender vote can be taken. For now, this change will only apply to Summoner’s Rift and the vote must be unanimous. If the vote is not unanimous, after 15 minutes, the team will be able to vote again and only a majority will be needed.
  • If a player on your team quits during a ranked match or is detected as inactive, the LP loss may be reduced. Pre-built teams with a player disconnected or inactive and players in promotion phases will not receive this reduction for loss.

Shop and Item Icon Improvements

  • We will continue to test the item store based on the comments you have sent us. As part of that work, we are also updating over 60 icons to improve the readability of silhouettes, differentiate colors, reduce noise, and improve rendering quality. We have listened to your feedback and agree that many of the icons were too difficult to identify and we are working on much clearer icons. Thanks again for all your comments!

  • Again, our goal for these types of smaller updates is to improve the overall clarity of the visual and sound effects in the gameplay experience and bring them up to modern League of Legends standards.
