The new video game in the series will also be the most ambitious in the series for now. They show off a new art to celebrate Star Wars Day.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has unveiled a new LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga art to celebrate Star Wars Day that took place on May 4. Regardless of offers, a new motion picture or the premiere of Star Wars Episode IX: Skywalker's rise on Disney +, the North American firm has taken advantage to offer new details of the most ambitious episode of the LEGO video game series, which will include the nine canonical films of the three trilogies.

Yaddle, one of the surprises present in this installment

The game, which will seek to serve as the definitive tribute to a whole series of films that have accompanied theaters for decades, is developed by Traveler's Tales and will hit all platforms in 2020 with nearly 500 characters; many of them playable. This is something that we already got used to deliveries like LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, which had a huge number of selectable characters.

Craig Derrick, product manager for Lucasfilm Games, has stated on the official Star Wars portal these aspects: "There are about 500 characters in this game, with many of them playable," he begins by saying, although the specific number has not transpired. "To choose the characters for a game of this size, we saw each and every one of the movies in the series and said 'yes' as many times as possible." And no, it seems that there will be no lack of faces loved by fans.

"Of course, we have almost all of your favorite heroes and villains from the movies," he adds, and he ends up confirming one of them: Yaddle, the female character of the same species as Yoda, a former JEdi Master and member of the Jedi High Council during the last years of the Galactic Republic era.

As for locations, there will be no shortage of the Clone Wars Battle of Geonosis, the Battle of Hoth, or other key locations throughout the series. Except for unexpected delays, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will launch this year 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch while maintaining its particular sense of humor and classic gameplay.
