Louis Foster, the 22‑year‑old British star of IndyCar, entered the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the first time at Lime Rock Park.
Rapid Ascent in the Truck Series
Starting 26th in Freedom Racing Enterprises’s No. 76 Chevrolet, Foster vaulted to 12th before a pit‑road speeding penalty stalled his momentum. After serving the penalty, he re‑ramped the field, nearly breaking into the top ten, and at one point rode in sixth.
Timing Troubles and Final Spin
An unscheduled stop required him to clean grass from the radiator, costing valuable track position. With only a handful of laps to go, a late‑racing spin sent him out of contention, and he crossed the line in 21st place.
Back to IndyCar and the Next Challenge
Following the chaotic outing, Foster has returned to Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing for IndyCar. He will compete at Nashville Superspeedway on 19 July, aiming to improve on his best finish of seventh in the Indy 500‑running season.
The brief but ambitious outing may give Foster a fresh perspective before he heads back to IndyCar.
