2K Games and Hangar 13 confirm that Mafia 2 and Mafia 3 are already available, although the new version of the original title will be out in August.
Last week's teaser made it pretty clear: The Mafia saga was preparing to return with a tune-up of the original trilogy. What was not known is that the Mafia Trilogy would go beyond mere remastering and offer a complete remake of the first installment, as confirmed by 2K Games through a press release. The second and third chapters, by contrast, are distributed in remastered form and are now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC Steam (also planned for Stadia).
Players who purchase the Mafia Trilogy digitally before August 28 will have the opportunity to access Mafia 2: Ultimate Edition and Mafia 3: Ultimate Edition immediately on either system. However, there will still be a wait to enjoy the remake of the classic, since Hangar 13 is still working on it and it will not be published until next August 28. The physical edition, meanwhile, will be marketed in stores when the collection is complete.

All three titles can be purchased individually. 2K Games also confirms that the two remasters will incorporate all additional content, in addition to images compatible with 4K resolution in Mafia 2: Definitive Edition.
