The Nintendo and DeNA mobile title incorporates one of the most demanded modes by the player community.

Press the accelerator if you don't want to be left behind in Mario Kart Tour, the adaptation to mobile devices of the popular Nintendo racing game. The Kyoto company had already announced that the multiplayer mode would arrive on March 9 to both versions, Android and iOS, so it is now available for free to all players. In the heat of the launch, the Japanese company has published a new trailer, which you can see on these lines.

The multiplayer mode was one of the characteristics that the community had requested since the arrival of the video game, back in September 2019. This modality entered beta in January, but its final arrival broadens the spectrum and allows all users to embark on races against other players in the world. DeNA, the developer behind the project, has designed three ways to enjoy the multi-player mode. We will explain it below.

What is multiplayer mode in Mario Kart Tour?

With friends it offers the possibility to select the rules and customize the options and restrictions to the maximum. As it is not a competitive mode, there are no category or league limitations. On the other hand, the Standard Races have two sets of rules that will vary daily, although they will always work at 100cc. What will vary will be the number of objects, since sometimes we will have to deal with a single item and in other cases we will have two holes for objects. The Gold Races, on the other hand, are exclusive for players who have the Golden Pass and are designed to start shooting at 150cc or 200cc. The following variants are given:

  • 150 cc with an object hole
  • 150cc with two holes for objects
  • 200cc with a hole for objects
  • 250cc with two holes for objects

Mario Kart Tour is a free-to-play available for iOS and Android. Nintendo recently revealed that it would continue to delve into the mobile video game business, so it will explore new formulas in the future. All franchises of the company are likely to appear on mobile devices, although not all important have yet. This is the case of The Legend of Zelda, which has not yet been debuted in this kind of terminals.
