The Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics video game prepares its roadmap for a comeback attempt already in the new generation of consoles.
Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics will celebrate a new War Table dedicated to Marvel’s Avengers on February 16. The broadcast will be focused on offering a clear perspective of what is to come to the video game, whose player base has declined rapidly after criticism and reported problems. The aim of the study is to win back users in online multiplayer games through content updates such as Hawkeye (Hakweye), the next free character, as well as the next gen versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, that will be featured in this coverage.
Both goals were planned for the end of 2020, but ultimately only Kate Bishop made it to Marvel’s Avengers before the end of the year. In this next War Table it will be detailed when and how Hawkeye will appear in the game, since its irruption will be accompanied by its own single player story, missions, events and equipment.

Regarding the version of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S, Crystal Dynamics will offer news, but they have not specified what type and if we will have a release date. We only know that if things remain planned like then, they will be released sometime in 2021.
Marvel’s Avengers does not meet commercial expectations
In Square Enix’s last financial report, Yosuke Matsuda, president of the company, stated in November that the company would try to overcome the situation with new content until the end of the fiscal year; on March 31, 2021, when they expected to see the fruits of that effort.
Those statements came shortly after the Japanese giant recognized “slow initial sales” at its launch, which resulted in insufficient economic turnover to cover the expenses of a production like this, multimillion dollar, having behind a license like Marvel.
Marvel’s Avengers is available on PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC. In 2021 we will have the next gen version of PS5 and Xbox Series X | S; free for current generation game buyers.
