Masahiro Sakurai played 242 PlayStation games in 2019

The creative Japanese, father of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, is a big fan of all kinds of video games, including those of other competing companies.

Masahiro Sakurai had a really busy 2019 year professionally and personally. The Japanese creative, responsible for the Super Smash Bros. saga and currently immersed in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC, has revealed on Twitter that he played a total of 242 different PlayStation video games in 2019.

After entering his user account in the personalized annual summary of 2019 (you can do it here too), Sakurai discovered the total number of titles he has played at least once on Sony's platforms during the past year. "And that is from PlayStation during 2019," he begins by saying. "If PC games or Nintendo Switch were also included, I wonder how many they would be," he continued.

Already in 2017 he was in charge of presenting his huge collection of videogames publicly, where thousands and of all platforms were counted. In addition, it was striking that his way of compiling the titles was, in the case of the discs, through albums for DVDs typical of movie lovers. He, however, prefers to have the covers on one side and the album albums and cartridges on the other.

It is not the first time that Masahiro Sakurai alludes, recommends or openly expresses his passion for other competing brands of Nintendo. Already in the past E3 2019, when Banjo & Kazooie was announced as a playable DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Sakurai told people in that video to buy an Xbox to be able to play the original deliveries, currently owned by Microsoft.

The future of Masahiro Sakurai is already known to all. The creative will now focus on developing the new six DLC fighters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in what they have called Fighters Pass Vol. 2, a new payment expansion pass with half a dozen characters – not yet decided -, new scenarios, Music and outfits.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is one of the best-selling games to date on Nintendo Switch and is also the most successful fighting game of all time.
