The saga starring Commander Shepard will return in the spring of 2021 with all kinds of improvements and all the content that was published at the time. The announcement, made by Casey Hudson through the company’s blog, also comes with other important news: a veteran team of the series is already working on a new chapter. It will be the fifth installment in the series after the three numbered titles and Andromeda, the last of the iterations published so far.

“It’s hard to keep a big secret but now it’s official: today we announced Mass Effect Legendary Edition! We’ve listened to you for years for a Mass Effect remaster, so we’re super happy to finally reveal what we’ve been working on,” said Hudson. , one of the most relevant figures in the saga, in a statement.

According to what he explains, the Bioware team has been working on improving textures, shaders, models, effects and technical elements of the three Mass Effect games. Although accurate: “our goal was not to remake or reimagine the originals, but to modernize the experience for fans and new players in the best possible way.” Among the improvements that we will see, a better resolution, an improved framerate and visual improvements.

The contents that we will have are:

  • Weapon, gear and pack bonuses
  • Everything optimized to 4K Ultra HD

The pack will arrive in spring 2021 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and will have compatibility and improvements for Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. We will have more information early next year.
