Loot Hacks in Fortnite are the newly introduced consumable boost that lets players coax rare weapons and items from battle‑royale chests in Chapter 7 Season 4.
These special hacks unlock once you’re ready to spend Sprite Dust – the in‑game currency harvested by extracting Sprites – in the “Override” section of your main lobby. One unlock lets a particular item appear in a chest; subsequent upgrades raise that item’s drop rate.
Current Loot Hack Arsenal
The current roster includes:
- Caduceus Staff – a supply spawn that heals teammates.
- Scorpion’s Combat Kit – a high‑damage weapon set.
- Wrecker Revolver – a rapid‑fire handgun.
- Deadeye Assault Rifle – a precision‑rifle for long‑range stems.
- Holo Twister Assault Rifle – a melee‑type shotgun hybrid.
All five can be activated simultaneously, though the list may expand as the season progresses.
Acquiring Sprite Dust
Sprite Dust can be earned by extracting Sprites from the map’s hidden reactors, or by entering admin panel codes stored in community lobbies. Those who wish to avoid long extraction loops may purchase dust directly during the in‑game shop process.
Unlocking a Loot Hack
Navigate to the Override screen: the left side lists purchasable hacks, while the right shows their current drop rates. Selecting an item will reveal an Unlock button at screen bottom. A single press coins the hack into your account and makes the corresponding loot appear in subsequent chests.
Because of the inherent rarity, players are advised to prioritize the Caduceus Staff for team survivability or the Overshield Sprite to bolster defenses.
Raising Drop Chances
Once an item is unlocked, pressing the Upgrade button will consume Sprite Dust and incrementally improve that item’s probability of materializing. The conversion ratios are fixed; the more shards spent, the higher the probability mass for that particular hack. Advanced players often extract the Cheat Master Sprite to amass dust for continual upgrades.
Resetting Upgrades and Recovering Dust
If you wish to reallocate resources, a Reset All Upgrades option below the upgrade toggle refunds every shard spent. This action clears all upgrade levels but preserves the unlock, allowing a fresh start. Repeat any number of times; the feature is unlimited.
Resetting is a handy salvage if a teammate’s Sprite vanishes in a match and you require Dust to respawn it.
Durability and Trading
Reloaded loot hacks are not persistent; they refresh on a periodic schedule every few days. Players can trade discovered “hacked” weapons or consumables during a match, sharing the advantage with teammates.
With the new Loot Hack system, Fortnite’s loot mechanics acquire a customizable layer, letting callers modulate the probability of coveted gear. While not guaranteed, each upgrade nudges the odds in your favour.
