Metal Gear Solid: David Hayter, "delighted" to be Snake again if there is a remake

The Californian actor, known for his participation in the Hideo Kojima video games, is open to this requested possibility.

David Hayter, an American actor known for playing Solid Snake in Konami's Metal Gear Solid saga, has stated that he would love to voice the protagonist of the creation of Hideo Kojima again in an eventual remake of the series' first title; a project not confirmed so far despite the recurring wishes of the community.

"If you want to bring me back for a remake of those games, I'd certainly be excited to do it."

In a video call meeting with IGN, the actor has chatted for more than twenty minutes with journalists Brian Altano and Max Scoville about his career and his upcoming participation in Phantom: Covert Ops for VR on Oculus. But there was also time for that approach, the highly demanded remake of the first Metal Gear Solid after its twentieth anniversary.

Metal Gear Solid is already twenty years old, will we have a remake soon?

His opinion is clear: "Look, I love Snake", he begins by saying about what is one of the symbols of his professional career. "I love playing that character. And as people already know, I will do it at the first change. So if you want to bring me back for a remake of those games, I'd certainly be excited to do it. "

Hayter has lent his voice as Solid Snake, Naked Snake and Old Snake in titles such as the English-speaking version of Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The only time he was absent was in Metal Gear Solid 5, the hitherto latest canonical chapter of the license.

In his resume we find, as more recent participations, that of Zangetsu in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night or Solid Snake himself in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch.

Of course, his relationship with Hideo Kojima seems not to be entirely good. A few years ago, when the Japanese creative had already left Konami, he declared that he refused to work with him again. As he indicated, the last games where he gave his voice led by Kojima were not a very satisfactory experience because they were loading. "I have no special affection for Kojima. I don't think I have a need to work with him again. ” Since the license belongs to Konami, going back to being Solid Snake would not be an obstacle for him now.
