Microsoft considers VR unimportant, Sony counters smart

Microsoft continues to have no interest in investing in the VR market and considers it a flat rate as unimportant. The return comes now from Sony, which countered quite smart on it. True to the motto: who does not dare, does not win either.

In general, Microsoft is more familiar with copying things in the console space, rather than making a head of themselves. Ultimately, it should then often judge the opened purse.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently said that he considers VR too isolating and (nobody) would ask him. In this respect, one leaves the field completely equal to the competition, which will probably not change in the near future.

Sony's Shuhei Yoshida sees things a little differently, and they are also working hard on things that people do not ask. After all, this is a key to this industry, to move forward and not rest on old things.

The fact that Microsoft is a little off the mark with VR is shown by the sales figures alone. Even if they do not speak for any mainstream market, they are quite substantial and growing. For example, PlayStation VR has sold over 4 million copies in the last three years. Add to that the whole PC headsets, which add up to a whole lot more. Thus, the VR market is not so insignificant, whose breakthrough to the mainstream with the next generation is expected.
