Players who already have Minecraft Windows 10 Edition will be able to enjoy the new improved version only if they have an RTX 2060 graphics or higher.
Minecraft RTX will be available in its beta phase starting next Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m. ET for all those who subscribe to the Xbox Insider Hub program and have both the Windows 10 version of Minecraft and an Nvidia graphics card. Thus, and thanks to a free update that will be available to all those players who meet the previous requirements, it will be possible to access six worlds created especially for this new version with improved graphics. All of these new Minecraft RTX worlds can be downloaded free of charge through the Minecraft Marketplace.
What improvements does this new update offer for RTX graphics? For starters, ray tracing is added to the Minecraft universe, giving a completely new look so far. On the other hand, the Mojang game receives a number of graphic enhancements such as more realistic natural lighting, a completely new look of the sky, higher quality shadows, much more realistic water reflections or sun rays that are reflected from a much more natural on surfaces such as ice or stained glass, all to offer a truly striking appearance.
In addition, the structures and modeling of everything around us in Minecraft has received a new surface treatment to make them look much more realistic along with the previous visual improvements, offering different levels of reflections and refraction depending on the material they are made of.
