Director Neil Druckmann already thinks about the next project, but does not close the doors to a new installment of the Ellie adventure.
The Last of Us Part 2 has not yet gone on sale, but Naughty Dog is already looking to the future. A future that goes through new projects and the development of a television series to be broadcast on HBO. A little less than a week after the publication of their video game, it is worth asking what will be next for the North American study. Although of course nothing has been revealed, creative director Neil Druckmann has hinted that The Last of Us Part 3 is a possibility.
In an interview with CQ, the developer has reflected on the last stages of development. “As things conclude, I have fewer and fewer responsibilities and my mind can only think about what’s next. So yes, the next thing could be Part 3 or a new intellectual property. ” Naturally, this is not an official confirmation, but at least chances are that Ellie and Joel’s adventure will not end in their second chapter.

The television series, another approach
Druckmann acknowledges that he is nervous about the premiere of The Last of Us Part 2. In the same interview, he also refers to the series based on its title. “It will allow us to focus on the characters and the drama, as well as showing other aspects of the characters,” he stresses. The creator has on his agenda to participate in the official podcast of The Last of Us, where secrets about development and other aspects of both the first and second installments will be revealed.
The Last of Us Part 2 will hit stores on June 19 on PlayStation 4, both in physical and digital formats. The video game will also have a limited edition of PS4 Pro, in whose case the tattoo of Ellie, the fern on her arm, has been added.
