New details of Connected Futures, the unpublished epilogue of Xenoblade Chronicles

Nintendo shares new details on Connected Futures, the unpublished epilogue to Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition for the Nintendo Switch.

The Japanese official website for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has been updated with new details on the unpublished epilogue for this version, Connected Futures. The data that we will show below are sensitive revelations about the plot of the game. If it is your first time in it, we advise you not to continue reading.

As Nintendo describes, “The world is at peace. The races have reached out and the restoration is in progress. In the midst of these events, Shulk suggests to Melia the search for Alcamoth, the capital of the Empire, which has disappeared. Both board the Junks aircraft to undertake the adventure, but it is suddenly attacked by a mysterious bombardment. "

That attack causes them to crash into a place called the Bionis Shoulder. Specifically, on the left. This will be the place where the epilogue will take place, which as we already knew occurs a year after the events of the base game. We are introduced to two of the new characters: Kino and Nene, two Nopons who will accompany Shulk during his stay in the area.

The new combat system recently alluded to has its explanation, at least in part. The same website comments that "since Shulk loses his ability to see the visions of the future, he must be more cautious when facing enemies and how to take combat." This is where the Nopon people come into play. These beings will be spread throughout the Shoulder of Bionis. If we complete their tasks they will join us as allies. They "support us in battle through the use of their respective special abilities" and cooperate with Shulk "to unleash the most powerful attacks," he concludes.

On April 27, an unpublished image gallery of this remastering was shared. In it we can see the result of the visual improvement that will affect not only the scenarios, but the way the roster of characters looks. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will arrive next May 29 exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
