The director of the new DC movie talks about the possibility of killing any character, so are all its protagonists in images.
The Suicide Squad, the new DC film by filmmaker James Gunn (responsible for the Guardians of the Galaxy saga at Marvel Studios), has shared new details and images of his next film project through an exclusive article from the magazine Empire, also confirming the creative freedom granted by DC and that will allow him to kill any of its protagonists if he considers it so.
Creative free hand for Gunn
Thus, and through two striking covers of Empire magazine for next December, we can see all the characters that will appear in the new version of The Suicide Squad, a kind of reboot of the 2016 film and in which they repeat some of its protagonists. And it is that in both images we can see such important names as Harley Quinn, Peacemaker, Bloodspot, King Shark and many more, including the director himself in one of the images.
In addition, Empire has published two more images of the film, until now unpublished and that you can see below, in which we can see several of the protagonists in different scenes. On the other hand, James Gunn himself has made some surprising statements that have not gone unnoticed by fans and in which he assures that DC has given him total creative freedom, including the possibility of killing any character.
“No character is protected by DC. They gave me carte blanche to do what I wanted. That was one of the things we agreed on before I worked for them. I wasn’t looking for the force of shock, but I wanted the audience to know that anything can happen, ”Gunn says.
The Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theaters on August 6, 2021; Furthermore, a spin-off series of the film was recently announced for HBO Max and starring John Cena in his role as Peacemaker.
