His best finishes come as runner‑up in both 2023 and 2025, with a third in 2024 after a fall from a 25‑point advantage during the final doubleheader. The 2025‑26 campaign began strongly; a victory in Mexico City and a third at São Paulo put Cassidy at the top of the standings after round two.
However, 13 races have yielded seven non‑scores and only three further podiums, hampering his title push. The gap to leader Jake Dennis now sits at 42 points, with 58 available across the remaining weekends.
Championship Gap
“I’m still proud, but I’m at the same time disappointed,” Cassidy told reporters, noting the arduous road of driving for three different teams and yet holding the most wins and points of the Gen 3 era.
He believes the season was “strong” but lacks the consistency needed for a championship, citing a shortage of P5‑P8 finishes and uneven race results.
Among the potential title challengers in London are Dennis, Mitch Evans, Pascal Wehrlein and reigning champion Oliver Rowland, all poised to capitalize on Cassidy’s inability to secure the big triumph.
Future Outlook
Although the title seems beyond reach, Cassidy plans another win at the London finale, noting that “an additional victory would be super cool.”
His already impressive statistics—12 victories, 30 podiums and 8 poles—remain a testament to his success and a source of personal pride, even as the ultimate Formula E championship stays elusive.
