NieR Replicant will have new characters and improved gameplay; PlatinumGames participates

The Square Enix title will be released soon on PS4, Xbox One and PC with new features and a revamped gameplay, all for a better experience.

Creative Yoko Taro has confirmed in an article published in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine that NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 will be “much more” than a mere remastering. The video game, presented during the commemorative broadcast of the tenth anniversary of the NieR saga, will be released soon on PS4, Xbox One and PC with a revised gameplay to make the experience more modern and polished.

Re-recorded dubbing, Platinum involvement, and improved gameplay

According to his words, those changes in playable matter have been applied to more closely resemble what was seen in NieR: Automata, one of the highest rated titles of the current generation. For this, Taro has had the participation of PlatinumGames, authors of the latter, so that this new version of NieR will feel Platinum at the controls.

Nier Replicant confirmed PS4 Xbox One PC

All in all, the team responsible for the game wants the title as a whole to feel "new" and more polished, with new characters not seen in the original. There are things that will not change, however, such as the camera, which will move and work just as the work of PS3 and Xbox 360 did in 2010.

Finally, another confirmed detail is that they will feature Japanese dubbing with the original voice actors (confirmed 9S and 2B; Ishikawa Yui and Hanae Natsuki), although they will re-record the lines of dialogue. Same voices, but with recorded conversations from scratch. The study in charge of the title is, as it was already advanced in its day, Toylogic, which have experience of support in video games such as Kid Icarus Uprising, by Masahiro Sakurai, and The Evil Within.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 will go on sale soon on PS4, Xbox One and PC through Steam in format, for the moment, only digital. It is expected that the publisher and distributor of this work will be announced in the different western markets over the next few months.
