Nintendo announces events for Mario's 35th anniversary in Super Smash, Mario Kart and more

The Kyoto company confirms themed events for some of its most popular video games based on the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Super Mario.

Nintendo has announced a series of special themed events for some of its most popular video games on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., such as Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Splatoon 2 and others, starting this September and until the month of March 2021. This has been communicated by the Kyoto company along with the recent announcements of new video games for Nintendo Switch.

Thus, following the chronological order of the different events, from next September 9 until the 23rd of the same month, Mario Kart Tour will receive two seasons based on the iconic Super Mario Kart from Super Nintendo with guest characters such as Mario and Donkey Kong. Already in November, Super Mario Maker 2 will welcome a new time trial with the theme of the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., while between the months of November and December, Super Smash Bros. It will not be until January 2021 when Splatoon 2 celebrates its own festival inspired by the Super Mario saga, while in March it will be the turn of Animal Crossing: New Horizons with new furniture taken directly from the plumber saga.
