Nintendo announces four new games for Nintendo Switch Online (SNES and NES)

Three Super NES games and one more NES games are added to the service’s library of titles, included at no additional cost to all subscribed members.

Nintendo has revealed four new NES and SNES games for the Nintendo Switch Online collection of titles, bundled with the paid subscription to the eponymous service on the console. After additions such as the famous three Donkey Kong Country titles, it is time to welcome a new work of the 8-bit machine and three for the library of the then known as the brain of the beast.

As confirmed through the social network Twitter Nintendo of America, as of this February 17, subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online will find in the catalog (no need to download) the following names, which are added to the dozens of games already included in both the Super NES and NES applications:

Super NES – Nintendo Switch Online:

  • Doomsday warrior
  • Psycho Dream
  • Prehistorik Man

NES – Nintendo Switch Online:

  • Fire ‘n Ice

For its part, Nintendo Japan has also announced the lineup of games for the service for this February; but there are some differences. In the case of the Japanese line-up, the arrival of Shin Megami Tensei II by Atlus stands out, on the occasion of the arrival of Shin Megami Tensei III HD Remaster and Shin Megami Tensei V this year; the fifth confirmed exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo Switch in 2021: upcoming releases confirmed

The immediate future of Nintendo Switch for this first half of 2021 has four big names on the table. The first is Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury on February 12; then Bravely Default II will come this February 26. On March 26 it will be Monster Hunter Rise’s turn, while on April 30 the long-awaited sequel to N64’s Pokémon Snap, New Pokémon Snap, will be released.

Nintendo has confirmed on the occasion of its recent financial results that they will reveal during the next months new games planned for Nintendo Switch in the fiscal year 2021/22, which will end on March 31, 2022. It is unknown if there is a new Nintendo Direct among those plans.
