Nintendo donates thousands of masks to fight the coronavirus

The Kyoto firm makes a contribution in the United States in order to collaborate in the supply of medical supplies in this global threat.

Nintendo has donated thousands of N95 respirators in the United States to help fight the coronavirus. The COVID-19, which already leaves 54,880 cases in the North American country with more than 782 deaths until this March 25, is now preparing a strong device of medical equipment for the hardest weeks, as anticipated by the WHO. The Kyoto giant joins the collaboration with thousands of masks in different parts of the country.

According to information released by Nort Bend, all masks will be directed to the Eastside Fire and Rescue in Nort Bend, Washington; the official Washington state fire department, which has more than 220 employees. The total amount of N95 respirators provided amounts to 9,500.

What are N95 respiratory masks

Unlike FFP2 masks, which have a filtering capacity of 92%, N95 masks have a particle filtering capacity of 95%. These types of masks, also called respirators, are essential individual personal protection devices to prevent possible contagion in the respiratory tract from virus threats such as COVID-19.

Spain is also affected by the coronavirus. Currently, COVID-19 has already affected more than 41,000 people and has claimed 2,937 lives. According to the Government of Pedro Sánchez, the health emergency team estimates that the hardest days are approaching, when the peak is recorded and, if the measures of the alarm state take effect, the curve begins to flatten and less daily are recorded deaths, fewer cases of contagion and more recoveries.
