The hybrid console receives a major firmware update with the option to transfer data between memory and SD card, control remapping and more.
Nintendo has released the Nintendo Switch 10.0.0 update. Players of the hybrid console can now download this new firmware version that, unlike on previous occasions, goes beyond improvements in system stability and security. Let's get to know what one of the biggest set-ups of the last months brings again.
Transfer data from the console memory to an SD card
Nintendo Switch can store data in two ways: either in the internal memory of 32 GB, or in a removable microSD card that we have inserted. However, until now it was not possible to transfer already downloaded software between both options; Yes now. Users will be able to transfer downloadable software, update data and DLC from the console memory to an SD memory (or vice versa).
Button remapping on your remotes and Joy-Con
A request that comes from afar. From now on, Nintendo Switch users can customize the configuration of the buttons on the console; both the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and the Joy-Con.
In addition, we can save profiles from each mapping. The custom settings will be saved as "Favorites" in "Console Settings"> "Controls and Sensors" (always stored in the internal memory of the console).
Those who use a Nintendo Switch Lite, the only portable model in the family, can also customize the button and lever scheme without any limitation, but Nintendo advises that this feature does not apply to third-party controls or official alternatives to classic controls. In total, a total of five custom settings can be saved for the Joy-Con (right), Joy-Con (left), and another five for the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. A total of five settings have also been enabled on Nintendo Switch Lite.
New section in User settings for gaming activity
Starting with this version 10.0.0 of the Nintendo Switch, the game activity (hours played, etc.) will appear in the 'Game activity settings' and not in 'Friends settings'. Therefore, the options' Show Game Activity '' and 'Delete Game Activity' will appear there.
New Animal Crossing icons: New Horizons
We finish with an aesthetic and visual touch. Nintendo Switch version 10.0.0 includes a total of 6 new user icons based on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the new title of the Nintendo saga exclusively for this platform: Cinnamon, Tom Nook and Cinnamon dressed as in this new delivery…
To apply the Nintendo Switch 10.0.0 update, you simply need an Internet connection. If so, the download will be applied automatically. Otherwise, it will be enough to do it from the system settings menu.
