Nintendo will not abandon the mobile gaming market anytime soon. In order to maximize the impact of its main intellectual properties on platforms other than its consoles, the Kyoto publisher intends to embark on more projects with which to attract more players to its devices. Of course, its main objective right now is to continue offering updates and content for the six video games already released, which are: Super Mario Run, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Fire Emblem: Heroes, Dragalia Lost, Mario Kart Tour and Dr. Mario World .

Of all of them, the last two were published in 2019, but it is Fire Emblem: Heroes that has reported the most money thanks to its business model, which is the one that has penetrated the most especially in Japan. The trend in all, except Super Mario Run, is that of a free to play business model; Although they are recently implementing a monthly subscription model with additional content and benefits for those who are enrolled.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp has gone from over 300,000 monthly downloads to over 7 million during the month of April alone.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Breaks Records Since New Horizons Exit

Furukawa comments that, after the arrival of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in stores, the number of players in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp has increased significantly and, therefore, revenues have also increased. According to the latest Sensor Tower report, the game broke its own revenue record since it launched last April and already exceeds $ 150 million billed since its launch. Regarding Mario Kart Tour, although no revenue data has been disclosed, they do confirm that it already accumulates more than 400 million downloads on iOS and Android.
