Nioh 2: how to get a Kodama core

The purple Kodama are the only characters in the game that allow you to get a Kodama core. We tell you what to do with them in Nioh 2.

Nioh 2 is consolidated as one of the best titles of this eventful first half of the year. Like its main genre rivals, Team Ninja's new work hides certain elements that are only discovered through experimentation. One of them corresponds to obtaining two of the core of soul that, unlike the bulk, must be obtained without using violence.

We refer to the Kodama core. By nature its peaceful nature, its cores are obtained in a special way. Finding them will be related to two of the trophies, making the discovery worthwhile.

Kodama, from sanctuary to action

Many of you will know the Kodama as those cute characters that populate the shrines. Thanks to the introduction of the nuclei within the guardian spirits, we can summon them in combat as long as we have unlocked one.

Being a friendly town, the only way to access their nuclei is through the exchange of objects with the purple Kodama. Its introduction in Nioh 2 collides with the originals. Although with the latter we must take them back to the sanctuaries, the purple ones only seek marketing with objects that we do not need.

To interact with them, get closer to their position and hold the circle button. Understanding the dialogue will depend on the level of Change that we are, so that until the middle of the game only symbols will appear in the subtitles. In any case, this will not change the way in which we must market with them.

Nioh 2 Kodama Soul Core

In front of them you must enter the item menu and drop any soul core. Then move away a few meters and the Kodama will collect the offering. There will come into play a probability that as you leave you drop a core of Kodama. The more power the nucleus has, the more possibilities it will have to obtain it. This method works with any object you want to give, although the reward will vary (a basic stone will result in amrite stones, for example).

When you get one, you must go to the nearest sanctuary to purify it. In this way, you will unlock the secret "Friend of the Kodama" trophy and it will serve as the complete counter for the "Seeker of Souls" trophy, which requires all the cores available in the game.
