According to an official FIA statement, the driver – and a McLaren team representative – must report to the stewards at 5:10 pm local time for a hearing on a potential breach of article 12.2.1.i of the international sporting code. The allegation stems from a race‑director’s note that Piastri was “driving unnecessarily slowly” during the pre‑race reconnaissance.

The stewards are reviewing whether a penalty is required. If found guilty, a fine or formal reprimand is most likely, but the consequences would not threaten Piastri’s fourth‑place finish at the Red Bull Ring.
