Overwatch 2: first details of the duration of the campaign

According to Jeff Kaplan, it won't be as short as you can expect from a DLC or an expansion, but it will be long as an AAA game.

One of the main novelties of Overwatch 2 will be the single-player campaign, the long-awaited story mode that players expected from this multiplayer success of Blizzard Entertainment. Little is known about its duration; however, the project manager, Jeff Kaplan, has chatted with The Washington Post and has advanced the approach that individual modality will take.

“What you could expect from any AAA category game”

In his words, Overwatch 2 "is not as controversial as it sounds" at first, which cannot be compared to a DLC or an expansion. It is possible to say that some voices criticized the existence of this sequel by the “minimum” differences in existing content with respect to the first part as to justify its launch to the market at a price higher than what a DLC can have. At this time the price will not be known.

“I play a lot of games. I can't think of a single DLC or expansion of this magnitude, ”adds Kaplan, convinced that any member of the Overwatch community should make the leap to the new title whenever it is released on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

“It will be an experience with a complete story; what you could expect from any AAA category game, ”he concludes. It is precipitous to estimate an approximate duration of said campaign, since no detail is given. We do not know if it will doubt ten, twenty, thirty or six hours. These details will be revealed as the release of Overwatch 2 approaches the stores.

Although it has no date, the fact that it is going to be launched on the platforms of the present generation invites us to think that its departure will occur before the arrival at the PS5 and Xbox Project Scarlett stores, both planned for Christmas of 2020.

Overwatch 2 is currently in development and will, as far as we know, with the expected PvE mode, a new hero and an unprecedented class system. All players of the original title can play the sequel content in the multiplayer side: no one is left behind. The cosmetics obtained will also be transferred to Overwatch. And yes, your progress will be migrated to the sequel. You can check everything we know about the sequel to the Blizzard hero shooter in this preview.
