Paper Heroes will edit volume 4 of The Story of Nintendo

The incredible story of the Game Boy is centered on the Kyoto company’s successful laptop, a phenomenon in its time.

It has been done to pray, but one of the most coveted video game books will finally be published in Spanish. Paper Heroes has announced that the fourth volume of The Nintendo Story will go on sale on May 12. The volume, written by Florent Gorges, immerses itself in the fascinating history of the Game Boy through a meticulous research process, which has led its author to interview the creators of the console.

The Nintendo Story, Vol. 4 (1989-1999): The incredible story of the Game Boy pays tribute to a laptop that was in the pockets of millions of people for years. In 2019 its thirtieth anniversary was celebrated, so the machine began its journey back in 1989. With 200 million units sold, Game Boy was a before and after for the video game industry. This book, originally published in France, reconstructs each of the events that occurred throughout that time.

Now available for reservations

The book will hit bookstores and department stores. It will include a protective case “in the purest style of Japanese collectors”, as well as full-color photographs and illustrations. It is now possible to reserve it on the official website of Héroes de Papel. All who do will receive a bookmark and the fourth and final installment of Hanafuda’s deck of cards. The publisher also confirms that it will reissue the first two volumes of The Nintendo Story. Specific details will be announced soon.

Florent Gorges, the author of the book, went to live in Japan when he was only 17 years old, where he worked as a translator and interpreter for the Japanese government. He has also been a correspondent for different specialized video game magazines, an interest that led him to investigate the history of Nintendo. Back in France, he joined the team of the Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream as a European correspondent. Gorges runs his own specialized publishing house, currently active.
